Paul Baguley

Paul Baguley MB ChB BSc LMCC MD FRCPC FRCSC FRCSEd Plas is one of the UK’s most successful private plastic surgeons.

Paul trained in the UK, studying Paediatrics, General Surgery and Plastic Surgery. After qualifying he moved to Canada, setting up a private practice in Prince Edward Island.

Moving back to the UK and settling in the north east, Paul worked for the NHS. After leaving the NHS in 2003 he spent time growing his private practice. His combination of enthusiasm and experience of surrounding himself with the right people is a testament to his knowledge on how to get it right.

Paul now practices in Yarm, Darlington and York, treating patients from all over the UK. He has extensive knowledge and experience in private practice to help new and established specialists in medicine and dentistry.

He believes that Step into Practice will be doctors’ and dentists’ primary model for setting, maintaining and growing a viable and sturdy private practice.

William (Bill) Howlett

William Howlett BSc MBA spent the majority of his school years in Liverpool, before moving to Norwich to read Chemistry at the University of East Anglia. His early career followed a path from the lab bench to a customer-facing technical service role. A more sales focused role followed in the pharmaceutical industry, where he successfully progressed his career for more than 18 years.

Bill gained an MBA from Teesside Business School, enabling him to transfer his skills to work in a business development role. He has worked for a private hearing-aid company, and more recently for BMI Healthcare where he now continues to work in a freelance consultancy role. Bill’s MBA has been invaluable in developing his business insight, business knowledge and business research skills, which contribute enormously to the development and setting up of Step into Practice.

William has been married to his wife Sue for 26 years, and has two daughters: Lauren, 24, and Chloë, 22.

Alanna Baguley

Alanna works in administration, marketing and social media for Step into Practice. She has two years experience in administration, including assisting with in-house advertising and marketing. She creates newsletters for Step into Practice, manages the website and blog entries, as well as monitoring and posting to all our social media sites.

She completed a Music degree in 2014, and is now completing a second degree part-time in Supporting Teaching & Learning.

Alanna’s passion lies in working with people and helping them achieve their goals and dreams. When not working for Step into Practice, she will be found either working on her novel, or aiming for her next 252 award at a local archery club.
